Poultry giant Ranjit Singh Boparan’s private office will take over Boparan Holdings Limited’s European Poultry business in a deal worth more than €200 million.

Boparan said the transaction will benefit both Boparan Holdings, which owns 2 Sisters Food Group, and the Boparan Private Office as it creates a “stronger, more agile group of businesses” and provides a platform for an “unprecedented level of internal investment”.

The deal is expected to strengthen 2 Sisters Food Group’s balance sheet, enabling it to reduce debt levels to the lowest point in over a decade. It also activates plans for its ‘next generation’ investment programme.

The European poultry business, under the Boparan Private Office, will now have a dedicated regional focus on its European markets. The business joins Bernard Matthews, Banham Poultry and Elkes Biscuits in the private office, along with Boparan’s portfolio of restaurant businesses.

The deal is subject to Polish anti-trust approval with an anticipated completion date later this month.
