Morrisons reintroduces item limit to prevent second wave panic buying

Morrisons has become the first supermarket chain to reintroduce limits on certain items purchased within stores in response to the Governments latest coronavirus restrictions.

Shoppers will only be allowed to buy no more than three of the same items on popular goods including toilet roll and cleaning products.

The decision comes after cases of positive Covid-19 cases continue to rise in the UK resulting in scenes of customers beginning stockpiling again.

Consumers are being urged not to panic buy assuring that the supermarket will have plenty of stock “available for everyone”.

A Morrisons spokesperson told ITV news: "Our stock levels of these products are good but we want to ensure that they are available for everyone.

"There is no need to buy more than you usually would. I would like to reassure you that our stores remain fully stocked and ask that you continue to shop considerately.

"We have remained open for our customers throughout the pandemic and will continue to have daily deliveries, often multiple times a day, across all of our products."
