Accolade's new B.INK Rosé and Chardonnay editions arrive

Accolade's new B.INK Rosé and Chardonnay editions arrive

B.INK, the new wine brand from Accolade Wines, is expanding its collection of vibrant and fruity, contemporary wines with the launch of Rosé and Chardonnay editions.

Available across grocery and convenience, the vibrant wines are sold in B.INK’s impactful, paint-splashed bottle design, and aim to introduce young professionals to wine. The innovation focusses on two of the top-selling varietals in the market.

Chardonnay is the third largest type of white wine in the UK, worth £467m, and makes up over a third of B.INK’s target consumers spend on white wine. B.INK’s South Australian Chardonnay is a medium- to full-bodied wine, combining vanilla and toasted hazelnut flavours with rich peach and citrus, before finishing with a creamy mouthfeel.

Rosé blends are the highest-value rosé varietal, worth £121m, and are a popular choice for B.INK’s younger audience. This South Australian rosé offers long-lasting, sweet fruit flavours, mixing strawberry, guava, and citrus with hints of red berries.

The launch will be supported with a digital campaign in October, encompassing macro and micro influencer activity, plus paid social. Consumer sampling will also run in 2023 across the UK to increase brand awareness.

“B.INK, thanks to its modern, paint-splatter packaging and bold flavours, appeals to your non-typical wine drinkers, targeting aspirational, food-loving young professionals,"said Anne Uva, Brand Manager at Accolade Wines. "We developed B.INK to recruit new consumers to the category, and now we’re armed with the full range of red, white, and rosé, we’re confident we can drive sales in the months ahead and build awareness of this contemporary, new edition to wine shelves.

“We plan for B.INK to leave its mark on the sector in 2023 with a focus on stand-out, disruptive in-store visibility. We’re also looking to sample the products in new spaces for wine, focussing on creative, urban events that inspire, including exciting partnerships to be unveiled with the art world.”

The B.INK range launched in March 2022 with the South Australian Red Blend. B.INK is a sub brand to the successful Barossa Ink collection, from the globally renowned Grant Burge Wines, part of Accolade Wines.

B.INK Rosé and Chardonnay (13.5 per cent ABV) are available across grocery, wholesale, and convenience from mid-October with an RRP of £9.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
