Aperol announces first UK NPD: the Aperol Spritz Kit

Aperol announces first UK NPD: the Aperol Spritz Kit

Aperol, the classic Italian Aperitivo, has announced its first NPD in the UK – the brand-new, portable Aperol Spritz Kit. Featuring a smaller 35cl bottle of Aperol and 37.5cl Cinzano Prosecco D.O.C. for the first time, the product caters to shoppers looking to enjoy an Aperol Spritz on-the-go this summer.

Light and refreshing, 72 per cent of cocktail consumers are now choosing a spritz serve, and with its inimitable bittersweet taste, the Aperol Spritz is a clear consumer favourite – creating a strong sales opportunity for retailers.

The Aperol Spritz Kit is also an ideal way to introduce new customers to the UK’s best-selling branded cocktail, with a lower price point versus full size bottle purchases. As 42 per cent of shoppers seek convenient and effortless ways to purchase products, the stylish, compact design of the Aperol Spritz Kit helps retailers tap into this demand – specifically designed for flexible merchandising in store.

“We are very excited to be bringing the Aperol Spritz Kit to market in the UK!" said Sandra Brunet, Marketing Director, Campari Group UK. "With only three ingredients and using the official 3:2:1 recipe displayed on the pack itself, consumers will be able to prepare their drinks in just a few minutes – seamlessly demonstrating the ease of serve to the third of shoppers who believe it is too much effort to create cocktails at home.

“Whilst the Aperol Spritz Kit carries a lower price point, it has been shown to help drive up the average basket spend of convenience shoppers, which is great news for our customers during the summer months, where the Aperol Spritz is a firm favourite for consumers looking to add an Italian twist to any picnic or gathering.”

For retailers wishing to offer their customers the full Italian Aperitivo experience this summer, the Aperol Spritz Kit should be merchandised alongside a selection of cicchetti: Venetian-style light bites like olives, cured hams and cheese.

The Aperol Spritz Kit is launching in the Convenience channel, with an RRP of £16. Each Aperol Spritz Kit enables shoppers to prepare up to 4-5 freshly made Aperol Spritz cocktails.

Jameson teams up with Admiral, for a tracksuit modelled by Kyle Jameson

Irish Whiskey brand Jameson has been the English Football League's (EFL) main spirits sponsor for two seasons and is deeply entrenched in all aspects of the league, including player sponsorships. It has now signed up with Admiral to celebrate both brands' association with the beautiful game. They have worked closely together to create a full retro-inspired tracksuit in Jameson’s signature green, featuring key elements from Admiral’s world-famous designs for team performance wear, to create a slouchy royal green trackie ready prepped for pubs, presents, party games and freezing cold five-a-sides this Christmas.

Jameson shares a history rich with the beautiful game, so teaming up with an iconic heritage brand like Admiral felt like a natural fit, with the results speaking for themselves,” said Josh McCarthy, Brand Director for Pernod Ricard UK. “A classic tracksuit, from two classic brands, to look sharp after the match when buying your mates a round of Jameson, Ginger and Lime. Nostalgia is everywhere at the moment and growing up in Leicester, there was no shortage of Admiral tops in the park and at the local football clubs.”
