Ascona gives £10,000 Christmas present to Pembrokeshire charity

Christmas present to Pembrokeshire charity

Fast-growing forecourt operator Ascona Group has announced a donation of £10,000 to PATCH, the Pembrokeshire based charity that aims to relieve the effects of poverty for people across the Welsh county.

Ascona said the donation will help to support PATCH’s mission to help those that are experiencing hardship throughout the Christmas period and winter months and will enable the charity to continue to give free food parcels, clothing and household items to those in a financial crisis.

“Since we started Ascona back in 2011, supporting the people of Pembrokeshire has always been key to our mission,” Darren Briggs, chief executive of Ascona Group commented.

“As we get closer to Christmas, the support Tracy and her team will give to those in need will be even more significant which is why we are thrilled that we can support this charity and its vital work for the weeks and months ahead.”

Tracy Olin, founder of PATCH, added: “This donation from Darren and his team at Ascona has blown us all away and left us speechless as it means we will be able to order food for parcels for the foreseeable future.

“Over the years, Ascona has been one of the great supporters of PATCH and the work that we do in Pembrokeshire. Without his generous donation, it might not have been possible to continue to support those in need over Christmas following the busiest November we have ever seen.”

Based in Pembrokeshire, Ascona has 59 forecourt sites across the UK. The group has embarked on a high growth strategy in 2018, expanding from 2 sites to 50 by end of 2020.
