Award-winning Teeling Irish whiskey joins Bacardi portfolio

Award-winning Teeling Irish whiskey joins Bacardi portfolio

Bacardi has announced that Teeling Irish whiskey will join its portfolio of brands in a number of European markets in 2024.

From January 1, Teeling will be distributed by Bacardi in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Austria; from February in Sweden; and from March, in Belgium.

TEELING joins a portfolio of premium brands including leading players in major spirit categories like Bacardí rum, Patrón tequila, Bombay Sapphire gin and Grey Goose vodka, and now the Irish whiskey will add to the company’s burgeoning whisk(e)y range which includes Dewar’s Blended Scotch whisky and Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey.

The news follows the decision taken by Bacardi to increase its stake in The Teeling Whiskey Company, with founders Jack and Stephen Teeling continuing to own part of the business and run day-to-day operations.

“We believe that, together, we can do even more great things for our brand and company,” said Jack Teeling. “By becoming more integrated into the Bacardi portfolio of iconic brands and their distribution across Europe, we will open up even more opportunities and reach for our brand.”

Bacardi Regional President, Ignacio Del Valle, said: “As a fifth generation Bacardi family member, I understand the bold decision made by the Teeling family to place its trust in us and use our expertise, resources and network to ensure more consumers can enjoy this incredible range of whiskeys. Bacardi will take Teeling to the next level and, together with Jack and Stephen, we will grow the brand’s reputation for craft and quality to fuel future success.”

Teeling is dedicated to bringing new and innovative flavours to Irish whiskey. Inspired by both traditional and unconventional techniques in distillation and maturation through special cask finishes, Teeling whiskey creates handcrafted, small batch bottlings of true character never tasted before. The flagship of the range, Teeling Small Batch Irish whiskey, is a celebration of the innovative spirit of Teeling. Hand selected casks of grain and malt whiskey are initially fully aged in ex-bourbon barrels then married together in Central American rum casks for up to 12 months for a distinctive, dried fruit profile.

With over 500 international whiskey awards, Teeling is raising the bar for Irish whiskey.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
