Family-owned biscuit company Bahlsen has announced the appointment of its Head of Sales Phil Bones to a new UK leadership position as Commercial Director.

Bones will be taking over from previous UK Managing Director, Jonathan Duffin, who is now Chief Commercial Officer Growth Markets.

“I’m delighted to take on this new opportunity, helping to grow the Bahlsen brand, and its much loved products, within the UK market,” Bones commented.

“Our clear objective is to continue to increase consideration of Bahlsen, while working as one cohesive international group. It’s an exciting new era for the business.”

Bahlsen said it is transitioning to a global strategy, devised to increase efficiency and efficacy with new centralised processes. Coming into place following the brand’s relaunch earlier this year, this international group operating model is expected to usher in stronger, thoughtful family ownership as well as strengthening its global brands.

Duffin said: “Our structural realignment is an opportunity to make Bahlsen a stronger, more internationally coordinated and thoughtful business. I’m looking forward to working closely with Phil to bring this to fruition in the UK and congratulate him on his new role.”

The Bahlsen family business has been specialising in sweet biscuits for over 132 years and, with a crafted range of sweet treats for every occasion. Now in its fourth generation, the Hanover-based company has had an established presence in the UK market since the early 1970s.
