Bendicks celebrates 90 years of chocolate mintyness

This year Bendicks celebrates 90 years of producing dark mint chocolates and is the number one premium brand within the After Dinner Mint (ADM) category[1].

“There are very few premium confectionery companies that can point to a heritage as long and rich as Bendicks, with the business starting operations in London, in 1930,” said Rebecca Robert, Bendicks Marketing Director. “Perhaps the most defining moment in the Bendicks history, was the remarkable mint chocolate recipe created in 1931 that went on to become the famous Bittermint. A combination of intense mint fondant, and 95 per cent cocoa chocolate, Bittermints became a phenomenon and retains a very loyal following to this day.”

In 1933 a new store was opened in the heart of London’s Mayfair. The company soon became known as Bendicks of Mayfair and its reputation continued to grow. In 1962, Bendicks was awarded the coveted Royal Warrant[2]. Since then the gold warrant has been displayed proudly on all of the distinctive Bendicks packaging – making the brand stand-out on shelf for shoppers looking for a premium product for entertaining or gifting this Christmas.

The Bendicks range includes:

· Bendicks Bittermints 200g (RRP £4.11)

· Bendicks Mint Collection 200g (RRP £4.22)

· Bendicks Mint Collection 400g (RRP £8.74)

· Bendicks Mint Crisps 138g (RRP £4.11)
