Birds Eye to launch extra large fish fingers

Frozen foods brand Birds Eye is releasing an extra large version of their popular fish fingers following a huge sales boom during the coronavirus pandemic.

Named Crispy Chunky Fish Fingers, the new seafood product will cost £3 for a pack of six, each weighing just over double (60g) of the standard fish finger (28g).

A television ad campaign promoting the upcoming food item alongside existing variants, Chunky and Oven Crispy Battered, is set to debut from today (Monday, 24th August).

Birds Eye sales success throughout 2020 comes following the national lockdown back in March, resulting in consumers turning to frozen food items in order to minimalise shopping trips.

Value sales during this period increased by almost a third (31.9%) against the year at the height of lockdown [Nielsen 4 w/e 16 May 2020].

Birds Eye Crispy Chunky Fish Fingers will be on sale in Iceland, Morrisons, Ocado and Tesco, from 7th September and Asda set for October.
