Black Tower introduces Alcohol Free in white wine and rosé
Black Tower Alcohol Free

UK winery Black Tower has introduced a new alcohol-free range of white wine and rosé as the popularity of alcohol-free drinks continue to rise in the UK.

Created through a gentle alcohol extraction process, Black Tower's Alcohol Free white wineis the ideal tipple for non-drinkers. It is characterized by fruity and punchy aromas of orange, passion fruit and peach, this classified de-alcoholised wine has a medium sweet flavour. It is well balanced, with 45g/L of residual sugar, and total acidity of 6 g/L, the company said.

This alcohol-free wine is also said to go well along with Asian cuisine, Vegetarian cuisine or white meat. It is available in a 75cl bottle from Ocado for £3.49.

Just like the Alcohol Free white wine from the same range, Black Tower Alcohol Free rosé wine is produced using the same extraction method and grape variety. Defined by very sweet and smooth aromas of blackberry, strawberry and raspberry, this wine also has a medium sweet flavour, 45g/L of residual sugar, and a total acidity of 6 g/L. It is available in 75cl bottle from Ocado for £3.49.

With the rising interest in health and wellbeing throughout the pandemic, it has been reported that consumers have become particularly conscious when it comes to drinking and are turning towards more innovative low- and no-alcohol options and Black Tower seems to tap in the trend.

A study conducted by the Portman Group revealed that 24 per cent of British drinkers seek to reduce their alcohol intake, with a rise of 31 per cent (about a third) in the 18–24 year old category, referred to as ‘Generation Sensible’.

Esther Schumacher, brand manager of Black Tower from Reh Kendermann said: “We’ve been producing Low and Alcohol Free wines for many years. They have become an important branch of our business and assist us in supplying our customers with an even larger selection of wines: Even those who don`t like to or can’t consume alcohol find a tasty alternative amongst our wine brands.”
