Boost Drinks expands RTD coffee range with new flavour

Boost Drinks expands RTD coffee range with new flavour

Boost Drinks has strengthened its popular range of ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee products with a new Caramel Latte flavour.

Available exclusively for independent retail outlets from today (1 March), the firm said new SKU will offer retailers a great-quality product with excellent margins in £1 PMP format.

The new flavour will also offer extended shelf life for retailers compared to other brands, thanks to its exclusive production techniques, Boost added.

“As the only soft drink brand that continues to sell exclusively through the independent retail sector, we’re passionate about fulfilling our commitment to selling exceptional value products with no compromise on quality,” commented Simon Gray, founder and managing director at Boost.

“In order to stay ahead of the curve and grow our ready-to-drink iced coffee range, we have invested in new flavour development to ensure we are offering a wider range of high-quality functional drinks, tapping into consumer interests and trends to help retailers increase sales. 2021 will be a landmark year for us as we also celebrate our 20th birthday, and we very much look forward to the opportunity to thank all our partners and customers who have supported Boost’s journey thus far.”

Boost said its RTD coffee launch in 2020 has proved hugely successful, with it already becoming the number two iced drinks brand in Northern Ireland.

With the iced drinks market already worth £25.6m and growing at 49 per cent year on year, the sub-category offers an incremental growth opportunity for wholesalers and retailers alike, Boost said. Caramel Latte Iced Coffee is the fastest-growing and second-largest flavour segment in the iced coffee category, with a 21 per cent market share.

Boost will support the NPD launch with a multi-channel marketing communications campaign across both trade and consumer formats, including digital and OOH.

New POS in the form of Caramel Wobblers will be available for retailers to download from the website. Boost has also invested in coffee specific distribution driving activity to help land the product on-shelf and the brand will be conducting sampling both in-depot and direct from the retail stores.

Caramel Latte joins the popular Caffe Latte and Double Espresso SKUs in the Boost Iced Coffee range. The new flavour will be available in wholesale in 12 x250ml cases.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
