Brand-new era for Strongbow with makeover and new Tropical flavour

Brand-new era for Strongbow with makeover and new Tropical flavour

A bold new look for Strongbow has been revealed as Heineken UK backs the cider brand with its boldest redesign ever, coinciding with the launch of a new flavour to the range, Strongbow Tropical Cider, to attract a new generation of cider drinkers.

The revolutionary glow-up bids goodbye to the iconic black and gold colour palette for the first time since it was created in 1960, with a new stripped back design featuring the famous archer front and centre with vibrant pops of colour. This bold and fresh new look for Strongbow will help attract a new generation to a much loved and trusted brand. The redesign has been created with findability in store and shelf standout in mind, as well as to generate excitement, with the new eye-catching cans and bottles hitting convenience shelves this month. This fresh new look for Strongbow is just the beginning and is being supported by a wider £20m marketing campaign kicking off from April.

Strongbow remains the market leader within the cider category and is dedicated to boosting the growth of the UK cider market by bringing a modern and confident new appearance, as well as introducing innovative new flavours.

“This is a huge milestone in the 63 years of Strongbow," said Heineken UK Cider Brand Director Rachel Holms. "It’s a new design that not only resonates and engages our loyal consumer base, but something that also appeals to new cider and Strongbow drinkers, and the start of a new chapter for us. And it’s only just the beginning. Setting the pace for what’s to come, we’re excited to show people what else we have in store for our summer of cider.”

Arriving just in time for spring is brand new flavour Strongbow Tropical Cider. A refreshing and fruity twist on the nation’s favourite cider, Strongbow Tropical Cider is a tropical blend of mango and pineapple.

Holms adds: “The launch of Strongbow Tropical Cider will further encourage new drinkers into the cider category, providing experimental consumers with an exciting new flavour to try whatever the occasion.”

This refreshing new addition to the portfolio contains no artificial flavours, sweeteners and colours, and is four per cent ABV. Available in 500ml bottles and 4 x 440ml can multipacks, Strongbow Tropical Cider will be available to convenience from March.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
