Burgess Pet Care extends Supadog range with new recipe

Leading pet food manufacturer Burgess Pet Care, has unveiled an expanded Supadog range of complete dry dog food, with a brand-new Rich in Salmon recipe specifically developed for all breeds of adult dogs.

The family business has also pledged a donation of 20p to dog rescues across the UK in the form of free food for every bag of 12.5kg Supadog Rich in Salmon sold.

“As part of our ongoing support for rescue centres, our donation pledge recognises the vital work that rescues do 365 days a year, as well as the huge contribution they make to the welfare and lives of all dogs, ensuring they can be rehomed and live happy, fulfilled lives,” Charlotte Varley, brand development manager at Burgess Pet Care, said.

The Rich in Salmon packaging features Jess, a two-year-old Staffy Cross.

“Jess’ mum was found tied to a lamp post while pregnant and she later gave birth to Jess in a rescue centre. Fortunately, Jess was adopted by her wonderful owners and is now very much loved by her family. Her story underlines just how important it is to support the work of rescues,” Varley added.

Speaking of the new addition to the range, Dr Suzanne Moyes, veterinary director at Burgess Pet Care, said: “A dog’s nutritional needs varies throughout their life, and our new Supadog Rich in Salmon food has been developed specifically to meet the needs of adult dogs. It contains prebiotics to help support healthy digestion and fish oil to help your dog’s coat stay shiny and healthy.”

Burgess Supadog Rich in Salmon comes with an RRP of £24.99 for 12.5kg pack. This recipe has no added artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives and contains zinc and fish oil to support skin and coat health.

Store denies 13-year-old alcohol claim, keeps licence

A Weston-super-Mare shop has been told it can continue selling alcohol, after it insisted police claims that it had sold alcohol to a 13-year-old girl were untrue.

The police had called for Weston Convenience Store to lose its licence to sell alcohol over the alleged sale in October 2022 and what they said were other subsequent breaches of its licence — but the police provided no evidence of the underage sale except for a statement that police had later visited the shop. North Somerset Council’s licensing subcommittee ruled that the shop could continue to trade with no changes to its licence.
