Burts Chips launches UK’s only hand-cooked popcorn

Award-winning independent snack-maker, Burts Chips, has introduced two flavours of popcorn, adding to its range of flavoured snacks, as more brands look to satisfy growing demand for healthy snacking options. Burts' all-new popcorn product helps to focus on building its brand in premium bagged snacks.

Popcorn is amongst one of the trends driving the larger snacking industry, and with a growing presence in the market, it is now a £147 million category with an expected growth at a CAGR of 11.2 per cent by 2027. Burts has therefore set out to develop the ultimate hand-cooked and small batch ready-to-eat popcorn under its brand, which will meet snack cravings yet remain a healthy food option for consumers.

Burts’ premium popcorn offering comes in two flavours, Lightly Salted (20g) and Sweet & Salty (28g). At only 126Kcal or less per 20g portion, each small bag is designed to fit into a well-balanced diet.

Burts is currently the only UK popcorn brand to produce both “hand-cooked’ and “small batch” popcorn products that are all natural, containing no artificial ingredients, flavours, colours, preservatives or sweeteners. Like other Burts Chips products, the two popcorn flavours are made with the highest quality ingredients, and both flavours are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

“It’s great to be expanding the products in our range, especially with our focus on building the Burts brand, and it makes perfect sense to use our expertise to develop the ultimate popcorn under Burts," said Commenting on the new product, Dave McNulty, CEO of Burts Snacks. "The two new flavours will be sure to satisfy our consumers’ snacking cravings, whether sweet or savoury. At Burts, we pride ourselves on delivering quality, hand-cooked products that are made with care. That is why offering popcorn that is done right to our new and existing customers is a vital step forward as Burts continues to grow.”
