BuzzBallz secures listings with SPAR wholesalers CJ Lang and Appleby Westwood

BuzzBallz Cocktails is continuing its UK expansion, building on the success of its summer listings in SPAR stores around the UK.

Following a successful listing with AF Blakemore in the Midlands, supplying SPAR stores in the region, the BuzzBallz range is now listed by SPAR wholesalers CJ Lang in Scotland and Appleby Westwood in the South of England.

The listings come as the appetite for quality, bar strength RTDs continues to gain momentum. Latest insights show RTDs will continue to grow and will command eight percent of total alcoholic beverages by 2025 (IWSR).

“Over the last year we have really put all our energy and investment into supporting stores and driving sales in the convenience sector. SPAR stores have already been instrumental in getting BuzzBallz into consumers hands, encouraging trial, and driving repeat purchase, so we’re thrilled to be rolling out the range to further outlets across the country,” David Relph, country manager UK and Ireland, said.

“Premixed cocktails are booming as shoppers recognise the convenience, flavour exploration and ease of preparation of RTDs, and with cocktails in the home here to stay, we’re confident BuzzBallz will continue to thrive in the UK.

“We’re excited for Christmas 2023 as we’re expecting gatherings in the home to dominate socialising habits in a bid to manage budgets, and for hybrid evenings to be become the norm - drinks in the home followed by a visit to a local hospitality venue. Spar stores are a prime opportunity for us, with shoppers on their way to pubs and parties, or for weekend impulse purchases for impromptu gatherings.”

As America’s biggest-selling single-serve premixed cocktail, the unique, premium, bar-strength RTDs are perfect for today’s grab-and-go lifestyles, making them ideal for the convenience and impulse nature of SPAR stores. They join a wave of new product development in RTDs that have hit shelves in the last 18 months.

All BuzzBallz variants are available in the convenience channel now with positive results expected for the festive season.

Flavours in the range include limited edition Pornstar Martini, Choc Tease, Tequila ‘Rita, Strawberry ‘Rita, Lotta Colada, Chili Mango and Espresso Martini. The ballz are fully recyclable, use 15% recycled plastic in their construction, and are 13.5 per cent ABV.  

This month also saw the launch of BuzzBallz Biggies - a limited edition 1.75litre format in three top flavours Strawberry ‘Rita, Tequila ‘Rita and Choc Tease (£28 RRP).
