Avon and Somerset Police are investigating a dramatic robbery that took place at the Morrisons Daily store on Arnside Road in the Southmead area of Bristol.

In a brazen attack just before 6am yesterday (19 June), a car was used to forcibly smash through the store’s doors.

According to police reports, the incident unfolded swiftly as staff inside the store were threatened by one of the offenders, who demanded money. The suspect, described as a mixed-race male around 5 feet 9 inches tall, was wearing a green mac-style coat and a grey cap, with his face partially covered.

After stealing a quantity of cash, the offender quickly exited the store and entered a waiting vehicle driven by a second man described as white. No further details about the driver are available at this time.

While no staff members were physically harmed during the robbery, they were left shaken by the ordeal, police said.

Officers responded promptly to the scene, initiating house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

Avon and Somerset Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses relevant CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to come forward. Those with information are asked to contact the police by calling 101 and providing the reference number 5224158018, or by completing an online appeals form.
