Chika’s launches new non-HFSS rice crisps

Chika’s launches new non-HFSS rice crisps

This Veganuary, Chika's, the natural, plant-based, gluten-free snacks that "embody the energy and vibrancy of Africa", is launching a new trio of non-HFSS Rice Crisps that are flavourful and under 100 calories.

The new vegan non-HFSS Rice Crisps are available in three flavours – BBQ, Salt & Vinegar & Sweet Chilli. Made with white rice and natural flavourings, they are popped (not fried) to create crunchy, moreish crisps that are tasty, light, and under 100 calories per portion.

“At Chika's, we believe that good snacks shouldn’t come with a compromise," said Chika Russell, founder and CEO of Chika's.

“With our new Non-HFSS Rice Crisps, our team of flavour makers have worked hard to create a range of tasty, moreish popped snacks that are low in fat, and under 100 calories per potion.

“This means out with the ‘bad’ (high salt and fat) and in with the ‘good’ – brilliant ingredients, big flavours, more spice, and added crunch.”

Russell says that as a brand, making good snacks goes further than ingredients and flavour: "It’s also about a deep rooted commitment to supporting communities, giving back through every snack we sell."

“As a female founded business, we’re passionate about supporting women and giving them the opportunity to succeed. Through our Snacks4Change programme with World Vision, we’re donating 1p from every pack to empower women in Africa with education, with the aim of supporting 30,000 girls by 2025.”

New Chika's Rice Crisps will launch into Co-op, NISA, Delicious Ideas, CLF, Cambridge Juice, Epicurium, DDC Foodservice from January 2023. RRP 79p for a 22g grab bag or £1.79 for an 80g sharing bag.
