Chupa Chups launches Green Apple flavour in Big Babol range

Chupa Chups launches Green Apple flavour in Big Babol range

Chupa Chups has expanded its Big Babol chewing gum portfolio with a new flavour, Green Apple.

As the second highest-performing brand in the bubblegum category [Circana Unify, 52w/e 25.03.23], Big Babol’s sales are ripe for this refreshing new flavour to bolster the existing portfolio, the brand said.

Soft and chewy in texture, the moreish Big Babol Green Apple is available in six pieces per pack, with the chewing gum individually wrapped for hygiene and freshness - making it the perfect on-the-go sweet treat to keep in your bag, pocket, car or at your desk. With long-lasting flavour, these extra-large, fruity parcels of joy can be shared amongst friends, or savoured alone.

An engaging and multi-platform social media campaign will support the launch, ensuring awareness amongst the key teen shopper demographic.

“Fuelling those all-important moments of joy, the expansion of our Big Babol portfolio to include Green Apple launches as shoppers are looking for more excitement from their favourite lollipop brand. Retailers and consumers alike have been clamouring for innovative flavours, with apple flavoured gum a popular trend, growing 595 per cent vs LY[2], and we’ve listened,” Kim McMahon, brand manager at Chupa Chups, said.

“As Chupa Chups continues to go from strength to strength, with Big Babol Gum currently occupying a 10 per cent share of the Kids Gum Category and growing at a rapid rate of 51 per cent YoY, there’s never been a better time for retailers to stock up and invest.”

Big Babol Green Apple launched in April across the convenience channel.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear.
