Co-op appoints former Ocado Solutions boss Luke Jensen to board

Co-op has made two new appointments to its board, with Luke Jensen, former chief executive of Ocado Solutions, and Moni Mannings, a solicitor, joining as independent non-executive directors.

Jensen joins as an established retail leader, bringing a wealth of experience in the global food retail industry. Heading Ocado Solutions, the online grocer’s technology business, since 2017, he was responsible for leading the transformation of Ocado from a UK retail company to a recognised global technology business.


He led the signing of major partnerships at Ocado including Kroger in the US, Aeon in Japan, Lotte in South Korea, Coles in Australia, Groupe Casino in France, Sobey’s in Canada, ICA in Sweden, Alcampo in Spain and Auchan in Poland.

Prior to joining Ocado, Luke was group development director at Sainsbury’s, where he was responsible for online and digital and all customer-facing digital activities.

Currently executive chair at Hana Group, a leading global provider of freshly prepared ‘on the go’ sushi and pan-Asian cuisines, Jensen will join the Co-op board on 19 February.

Mannings took up the position on the Co-op board on Tuesday. She currently sits on the boards of Hargreaves Lansdown, easyJet and Land Securities. A qualified solicitor, Mannings was a partner at a number of global law firms, including as International Head of Banking and Finance at Olswang.
