Cornitos expands range with Spicy Tikka Masala flavour

Natural nacho chips brand Cornitos has extended its range with the addition of a new Spicy Tikka Masala variant.

The premium brand, which was introduced to the UK market last summer, is designed specifically for the retail healthy snacking sector.

New Spicy Tikka Masala takes the range to five, other flavours being Lime and Mint, Barbeque, Peri Peri and Thai Sweet Chilli which won the savoury snacks category in the Quality Food Awards 2020.

Each is gluten free, vegan, non-GMO, cholesterol free, with no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives.

Fraser Heenan, chief executive and co-founder of Glasgow-based Blaze XK, the company that brought Cornitos to the UK from India, said: “The fact that Cornitos contain only natural ingredients and are free from all of the 14 main recognised allergens – such as dairy and wheat – gives us a strong point of difference in the better-for-you snack market.

“Tikka Masala is a longstanding UK favourite and this brand extension, offering an authentic and moreish taste, answers the growing consumer desire for plant-based healthier snacking products that bring global flavours, innovation and excitement to the snack market.”

The brand is being marketed via social media channels including Instagram and widespread consumer sampling campaigns. Spicy Tikka Masala’s launch will also be supported with advertising for key trade partners as well as extensive social and digital activity during April and May.

“With customers returning to retail and hospitality during this period, the timing is perfect for an exciting new product to hit the shelves,” Heenan added. “Cornitos brings a new dimension to the healthier snacking category with natural flavours from around the world giving it a point of difference in the snacks aisle.”

All five Cornitos flavours are available from leading wholesalers to the convenience sector, including Hancocks Cash & Carry, Suma Wholefoods and D&D Snacks, which delivers direct to retailers across London and the South East. Direct retail trade supply is also available nationally through www.cornitos.co.uk.
