David Flochel appointed to lead Heineken UK

David Flochel, newly appointed managing director of Heineken UK, will take charge on 1 January.

Flochel joins from the Selecta Group, Europe’s leading unattended self-service retailer, where he served as the chief executive since July 2016.


He previously held several senior roles in FMCG sector including at Unilever, and more recently as regional president in Europe and North America of the Mars Drinks segment at Mars Inc.

“It’s a great pleasure to be joining Heineken,” Flochel said. “Our portfolio of brands, our route to market strength, and our great people and culture are unique and very inspiring to me! I am looking forward to working closely with our teams, our suppliers, customers and partners.”

His authentic leadership style, customer centric approach and passion for developing talent are a great fit with Heineken as we continue our journey as Britain’s leading pubs, cider and beer business.”

Flochel will take over from Simon Amor who has been operating as interim managing director since the departure of David Forde in July 2020. Amor will return to his position as off trade director at Heineken UK.

Hagh added: “I’d like to thank Simon Amor for his outstanding leadership as interim managing director. I am sincerely grateful for his considerable contribution during the most challenging of times.”
