DHL Parcel launches new over the counter service at Collect+ stores

DHL Parcel today announced the launch of a brand new over the counter service ‘Walk In Send’ across its ServicePoints nationwide.

The new service will be rolled out across the UK in partnership with Collect+, part of PayPoint Group and DHL’s ServicePoint partner.

The ‘Walk In Send’ service offers a simple and convenient way to send and pay for parcels in-store. At each ServicePoint location, consumers will be able to pay over the counter to send a parcel, after filling in delivery details on a handheld device. Staff will then print and affix the necessary labels.

With ServicePoints open 7 days a week, typically from 8am until late in the evening, DHL Parcel said the new service offers a practical and flexible way to send and pay for parcels.

“The service is extremely accessible, with long opening hours and the ability to pay in person making sending a parcel with DHL simpler than ever before. We know our consumers need a service that suits their busy lifestyles and the over the counter service ‘Walk In Send’ option is perfectly designed to do precisely that,” Peter Fuller, chief executive of DHL Parcel UK, said.

Nick Williams, head of strategic partners and products: parcels at PayPoint added: “At PayPoint, we’re always looking at ways to expand our relationships to help retailers increase their footfall and get the most out of their stores and DHL’s ‘Walk In Send’ does exactly that. The simplicity and flexibility of the service offers greater convenience to consumers looking to send a parcel.”

The new over the counter service option expands DHL Parcel’s consumer services, complementing the existing online services of home collection and ServicePoint drop off.

When sending a parcel over the counter, senders will be issued with a shipment number to track their parcel and will be able to contact customer service agents from 7am-8pm weekdays.

PayPoint-owned Collect+ is an innovative in-store parcel service with a network of more than 10,000 trusted stores.
