Diageo launches updated online support platform for independent retailers

Drinks major Diageo has announced a transformation of online support platform ‘Diageo One’ to support independent retailer businesses.

Set to revolutionise the way Diageo works with independent retailers, the platform will provide advice, critical insight, and tools to supercharge their businesses. Diageo One is free to use and can be accessed via desktop, mobile and app.

Previously only available to the on-trade, Diageo One has been revamped with a fresh new look and includes a wealth of resources to empower independent retailers. To ensure the platform meets customer needs, Diageo has engaged with over 1000 independent operators across the off and on trade, through focus groups and interviews, to identify their business needs, challenges, and ambitions. Through this research, it was found that operators were looking for more support, tailored relevant content and a platform designed to grow sales.

The transformed Diageo One has been equipped with technical enhancements to deliver greater customer experience, both on the platform and through enhanced email communications. The platform now offers:

  • Direct Diageo support – At the touch of a button, retailers can receive all the help they need from Diageo as their trusted business partner and drinks experts.
  • Free marketing tools – Equips businesses with everything they need to inspire purchase, from powerhouse global brands such as Smirnoff and Guinness.
  • Exclusive training material – Gain expert advice and resources, to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Latest category trends – Build knowledge and confidence with latest industry-leading insights and news.

Diageo said it will look to continually evolve the platform to meet customer needs and ensure all the resources and business support available are relevant to independent retailers.

“Diageo is deeply committed to forging strong connections with our customers - supporting them in delivering the best possible service which drives tangible results,” Andy Fell, strategy and transformation director, Diageo GB, commented.

“This is why we are really excited about the transformation of Diageo One, which looks to supercharge businesses with a range of incredible tools. The platform has a whole range of resources specifically tailored to support our off-trade partners, providing them better access to support and guidance from Diageo than ever before.

“The transformation of Diageo One demonstrates our commitment to providing the best support to independent off-trade retailers, and enables us to be agile and react quickly to changes in the environment, ensuring we have the tools in place to empower our customers to make strategic decisions that positively impact their businesses.”
