Dr. Oetker launches new Science Mixes

Leading home baking brand Dr. Oetker has launched two new cupcake mixes that combine baking and science.

The Dr. Oetker Spectacular! Science Mixes offers a fun and engaging time for the families, tapping into the wider trend for parents passing on key skills through affordable, easy-to-undertake activities.

The baking kit includes a learning activity sheet to guide families through the baking process and teach them the science behind it. Eack kit provides the ingredients and everything needed to bake and decorate 12 cupcakes.

The product comes in two variants, the Crazy Colour Changing Icing Mix which uses PH reactions to create a colour-changing icing and the Squashable Jelly Bubbles Mmix that uses spherification, the process of turning liquid into small gel bubbles, by combining the calcium ions with sodium alginate strands from the coloured solution. Both variants retail at £2.50.
