Dr. Oetker Professional is set to reveal new product additions at Casual Dining expo

Dr. Oetker Professional confirms its attendance at the UK’s only trade show dedicated to the casual dining sector, The Casual Dining expo.

The annual Casual Dining show taking place on 14th and 15th September at Excel London brings together senior decision makers from restaurants, pubs & bars, hotels and contract caterers with professional food service suppliers, in a unique networking opportunity showcasing new products, innovations and trends within the sector.

Dr. Oetker will be showcasing some new additions to its Pizza Perfettissima range including the new Puro Base and a 22cm Margherita, plus the all-new artisanal "Pinsa" range which comes in Pomororo, Bianca, Margherita, Salame & Verdure flavours. They will also be showing the new handheld Pizza Snacks, perfect for food-on-the-go, and Chicago Town Takeaway, Deep Dish and Chicago Thin products.

They’ll also be submitting their Pizza Perfettissima Puro Base to the ‘innovation challenge’, which allows visitors to vote on the most innovative products in attendance, shortlisted candidates then pitch their product to a panel of industry judges to battle it out to be awarded the Bronze, Silver or coveted Gold Innovation Challenge Award. The new Puro Base is a naked base with a long-fermented dough that is stone baked and great for chefs to add their own customisation. This particular product is also vegan.

To top it offer, Dr. Oetker will be running a competition to "win a Tuscan food and wine safari for two plus 1000 spending money" so attendees should check out the stand to get involved!

Over the course of the two-day event, more than 200 exhibitors and over 4,700 visitors will come together to experience world-class key-note speeches from some of the biggest names in the industry, attend lively panel discussions, and share invaluable advice and insights for the industry

Additionally, this year Casual Dining will be co-hosting with sister shows, Lunch! and Commercial Kitchen allowing buyers to see an even greater range of products and innovations.

“The Casual Dining show is a key date in our calendar every year and we’re looking forward to networking with our existing contacts and building some new connections," said Richard Cooper, Senior Brand Manager at Dr. Oetker Professional.

"Our hero product for this year is our Pizza Perfettissima range which is our newest addition, offering artisanal bases pre-baked in a brick oven for an authentic Italian taste and hand-made appearance and we’re eager to show everyone what new innovations we have going on this year in both pizza and baking.”

Safer alternatives to cigarettes could save millions of lives and billions of pounds, says think tank

Promoting safer alternatives to cigarettes could save 19 million years of life by 2030 and reduce smoking-related costs to taxpayers by up to £12.6 billion annually, a new report from the Adam Smith Institute (ASI) has revealed.

The think tank argues that the UK government's current approach to achieving a Smoke Free 2030 - defined as reducing smoking rates to 5 per cent or lower - is both illiberal and unworkable and will significantly set back progress against smoking related harm. The ASI warns that policies such as a generational tobacco ban, a new tax on vapes, and restrictions on heated tobacco products and flavours will hinder harm reduction efforts.
