Eat Real brings in former Wahaca chief Mark Turner as MD

Healthier snacking brand Eat Real has announced the appointment of Mark Turner as its new managing director.

Turner, who has been working as the managing director of Mexican restaurant chain Wahaca till May, joins Eat Real at a significant point for the brand, which was recently acquired by Exponent Private Equity.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Eat Real at a hugely exciting time for the business,” Turner commented.

“With today’s consumers increasingly more focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is the perfect time to really drive Eat Real’s unique proposition of healthier snacks which use all natural, high quality ingredients and never compromise on taste.”

Turner previously headed up craft beer brewer Camden Town Brewery and held a key role at Innocent Drinks for 10 years.

Eat Real, the healthier snacking range launched by Asian snack maker Cofresh in 2014, has an RSV of £50 million. Cofresh has been acquired by Vibrant Foods, an ethnic foods platform launched by Exponent Private Equity, in July this year.

The brand is set to open its new £20 million factory in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, early next year.
