Energy drink Carabao launches £10,000+ cash prize competition

Low calorie sugar energy drink brand Carabao is giving retailers the chance to win one of thirteen £500 cash prizes throughout the month of August, with one lucky winner scooping £5,000.

Every participating wholesaler will be guaranteed at least one £500 winner, with one case purchased is one entry in the draw.

The more cases each retailer buys, the more entries they get as there is no limit to the number of entries allowed.

Carabao's latest promotion comes after taking the market by storm in 2020, becoming the UK’s fastest growing energy drink[1], driving category growth and incremental sales.

A total of 33% of Carabao sales growth comes from shoppers who are new to the category[2] which can be attributed to how its delicious and fruity energy drinks satisfy a number of consumer needs.

All of their products contain 60% less sugar than major competitors and only 63 calories per can.

An excellent POR (profit on return) percentage on all Carabao products gives retailers a great opportunity to make a sizeable profit on Carabao Energy Drinks this summer.

Mark Tanner, head of wholesale and independent at Carabao Energy Drink UK&I, said: “This cash incentive from Carabao not only offers retailers the chance to win great cash prizes but also the chance to maximise their sales by stocking the UK’s fastest growing energy drink.”

“We want to reward retailers for supporting us so far in 2020 and are excited to offer this promotion at a time when driving sales growth is more important than ever.”

Participating wholesalers include Filshill, HT Drink, Spar (Henderson’s, A.F. Blakemore, CJ Lang’s and Appleby Westward Group), Costcutter, Dee Bee, DDC, R&I Jones (Wales), United Wholesale (Scotland), Savage & Whitten and Dhamecha.

'Walkable high streets boost economy'

Shoppers who walk and wheel spend more than those arriving by car, states a recent report, demonstrating the significant economic and social benefits of investing in walkable town centres, challenging traditional views on urban accessibility.

The findings published in third edition of "The Pedestrian Pound Report", recently published by Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, come at a critical juncture for British high streets, with a record number of retail failures in 2022 and a vacancy rate of nearly one in seven by the end of 2023.
