Ferrero celebrates summer with exclusive Kinder competition for convenience

Ferrero celebrates summer with exclusive Kinder competition for convenience

To celebrate the recent relaunch of its much-loved twist on the original Kinder Bueno – Kinder Bueno Coconut, available this summer in both standard and price-marked RRP packs – Ferrero is giving convenience retailers the chance to bring summer to life in-store.

To help the product stand out to shoppers, a limited number of point of sale display kits suitable for stores of all sizes (containing a countertop unit, store poster and shelf wobbler) are available to request at www.yourperfectstore.co.uk. Convenience retailers who order these kits and share images of the displays on Twitter, tagging @FerreroYPS, will be entered into a draw to be in with a chance of winning Kinder Bueno Coconut and Ferrero Raffaello stock, inflatable props and decorations, and branded bunting to help the celebration materialise for shoppers in-store.

The exotic Kinder Bueno Coconut flavour is available for a set time only. Its limited run in 2017 delivered almost £1m RSV in just three months. In addition to this, the launch generated a +65 per cent increase in sales, with over half of those sales to shoppers who were new to the brand.

As both footfall to stores and impulse purchases are expected to increase through the warmer months, creating theatre in store will help convenience retailers to attract new shoppers to the confectionery fixture and maximise sales this summer and beyond.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
