Fresh Food For Now Company launches new savoury bar

Fresh Food For Now Company launches new savoury bar

The food-to-go experts at Fresh Food For Now Company today (6) announced the return of an unconventional yet enticing duo of savoury bars, available now in travel, forecourt and impulse channels.

Designed to grab the attention of busy commuters and people on the road, the hunger-busting Buffet Bar and Scotch Egg Bar are two satisfying solutions to between-meal cravings, available in striking shelf-ready packaging to improve visibility on fixture.

Protein-packed to meet demand from the 53 per cent of consumers looking to stay fuller for longer, the bars also combine several of the UK’s most reached-for snack formats. A picnic in one bite, the Buffet Bar is juicy, 100 per cent British sausage meat filled with crunchy coleslaw, soft cheese and creamy mayo and wrapped in crispy golden breadcrumbs.

Tapping into the well-loved snacking staple of a savoury egg – bought by over a third of the population and particularly popular with younger consumers2 – the Scotch Egg bar sees sausage meat filled with perfectly seasoned egg mayonnaise, encased in a breadcrumb coating.

As lifestyles get more hectic and we move further away from traditional mealtimes, snacking has seen significant growth. Across the UK, one in three replace main meals with snacks3, which now account for 29% of total consumption occasions4.

Out of Home Snacking is particularly buoyant, worth a staggering £3.8billion across a variety of channels5. With the likes of forecourts and travel over-indexing on all-day grazing in particular, the new bars are the perfect on-the-go option or lunch ‘add on’ for operators in this space.

Wayne Greensmith, Head of Customer Marketing at Fresh Food For Now Company, said: "If you’re thinking our tasty new snack bars look familiar... you’d be right! We’ve brought back the iconic format, previously Ginsters, that was beloved the nation over for many years.

“Thanks to a packaging makeover and new ingredients, the bars now have even more appeal to shoppers looking for a snacking hit. Don’t sleep on this launch – with the nostalgia surrounding the format, and the fact there’s nothing quite like it on the market, this tasty twosome will be flying off your fixture.”

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
