Funkin Cocktails raises a glass to B Corp status

Funkin Cocktails raises a glass to B Corp status

Funkin Cocktails has announced that it is the first UK-based cocktail brand to become a certified B Corporation, or B Corp.

Joining a select group of companies which have passed the rigorous B Corp accreditation process, Funkin’s new B Corp status signifies the company meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

This comes at a time when consumers are increasingly aware of – and influenced by – brands’ sustainability credentials when making purchasing decisions. In fact, two-thirds of shoppers say "sustainability" is more important to them now that it was two years ago , while increasing numbers of consumers are concerned about "greenwashing".

As part of the comprehensive application, Funkin Cocktails was commended for its commitment to its employees, as well as its policies and overall company mission.

“We’re so proud to have achieved this monumental feat which recognises the contribution our entire team has made to ensuring we use business as a force for good, said Funkin Cocktails Head of Brand, Rosie Crossman.

“Established in 1999, Funkin was built from the ground up as a firmly future-facing company. This accreditation helps to call out the commitments we’ve made to people, our community and the planet along the way.

“Rightly, more and more shoppers expect brands to adhere to high standards of business practice. Being awarded B Corp status is the latest step in our commitment to continued improvement – it’s also something vast numbers of shoppers recognise and value.

“As the first B Corp cocktail company in the UK, this is the first step in demonstrating it’s possible to run a successful business creating game-changing, bestselling products, while behaving in a responsible and sustainable way.

“It’s these responsible business practices, integral to our mission to make great tasting cocktails available everywhere, that we believe will stand us in great stead for years to come.”

Securing B Corp Certification means that Funkin Cocktails has met the required high standards of social and environmental performance, has committed to changing its corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, and exhibits full transparency.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
