Geeta’s expand Indian flavours with two new pouches

Premium Indian brand, Geeta’s Foods, has launched a duo of side dishes – Bombay Spiced Lentils & Potatoes and Saag Aloo – to help deliver its mission to add inspirational Indian flavour to everyday eating. The new microwaveable pouches have been designed to provide all the flavours of India as a quick and easy side to any meal or snacking occasion.

Saag Aloo consists of cooked mung dahl and red split lentils combined with potatoes and spinach, slowly cooked with layers of spice.

Serving two and ready in one minute 30 seconds, the NPD meets consumer demand for taste, convenience and versatility.

The pouches contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Geeta’s microwavable sides will join a line-up of products, including the UK’s number one Mango Chutney, authentic Indian chutneys, flavoured roti flatbreads and Indian inspired table sauces. Further launches from Geeta’s multi-year innovation pipeline are coming in August.

"Indian flavours have widespread consumer acceptance and appeal across a range of meal and snacking occasions," says Eleanor Bridgman, Director of Sales & Marketing at Geeta’s.

"The growth in the heat and eat category presents a great opportunity for our new side dishes to add Indian flavours to a raft of meal or snacking occasions, as well as the Friday night curry."

Geeta’s growth has been driven by increasing the usage and consumption of Indian food and flavours and driving new, younger consumers to the category and instore fixtures.
