Gold award for PureOaty

Gold award for PureOaty

Glebe Farm Foods’ PureOaty Creamy & Enriched took home the top prize at the prestigious Free From Food Awards 2024. The gluten-free oat drink, made from the purest British oats, was given the highly coveted Gold Award in a very competitive Dairy Alternatives Category. There was also further success for PureOaty in the Breakfast Category, with its Choco Chip Granola picking up a Bronze Award.

First launched in 2008, the Free From Food Awards are the UK’s only awards dedicated to free from food and drink, celebrating innovation and raising awareness for the free from category. On announcing the Gold Award, judges praised PureOaty Creamy & Enriched for its “uniquely enjoyable, biscuity flavour” and its appeal as a “fresh, light oat milk with a strong flavour.”

Judges also recognised and celebrated Choco Chip Granola’s “rich, chocolatey goodness” combined with the “wholesomeness of oats” in an appealing mix, as well as importantly highlighting that it’s a “tasty and safe breakfast option” for families.

“We are extremely honoured to be recognised by The Free From Food Awards for our innovative products," said Philip Rayner, Founder and CEO of Glebe Farm Foods. "This is a testament to our dedication to creating delicious, high-quality gluten-free products that cater to our customers' needs. These accolades highlight the hard work and passion our team puts into ensuring everyone can enjoy tasty and safe food options.”

Glebe Farm Foods says that it is committed to leading the free-from and gluten-free food-and-drink sector, innovating to meet consumer needs, and that these recent awards "reinforce the company’s mission to provide exceptional products without compromising on taste or quality".

Branded cheese accounts for 40 per cent of total cheese value sales, with it being worth a total of £1.2 billion, growing 6.6 per cent in value sales YOY, while private label accounts for 60 per cent and is worth £1.8 billion, growing four per cent YOY.

Heloise Le Norcy-Trott, Group Marketing Director for Lactalis UK & Ireland explains: “After two years of contracted volume sales the cheese category has an opportunity to regain momentum. Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, these are the cheese trends we think retailers should be aware of.”
