Highland Spring unveils new 10 litre pack with a ‘colourful’ conversation on hydration

Highland Spring has launched a Natural 10 Challenge to mark the release of its new 10 litre box – the biggest pack available from the natural source water brand.

The challenge invites people to embrace the healthy habit with ‘hydration hacks’ from Harley Street nutritionist Lily Soutter. The brand has also created a colour scale to get people checking the shade of their pee, to kickstart a conversation around hydration.

Developed in close partnership with Pantone Color Institute’s global team of ‘colour experts’ and Soutter, who uses the NHS Nutrition and Dietetics Urine Colour chart, the urine colour scale shows five key shades - ranging from clear to dark yellow - used to help indicate healthy hydration.

The aim is to help people get their daily intake of fluids following a study found 40 per cent of UK adults are confused about how much water they should be drinking.

The study also found that despite believing they should be drinking seven glasses of water a day, people typically have five – although 23 per cent only manage one to two. 43 per cent do not think they are getting enough, because they simply forget to drink water (63%), get distracted by their day-to-day routine (42%) and are too busy (15%).

Highland Spring 10 litre

“Our bodies have a built-in and natural way of helping us to know if we are drinking enough fluids. We know it can be embarrassing to talk about our pee, but it’s an important indicator to help us staying hydrated,” Carol Saunders, Highland Spring’s head of marketing, said

“So we’ve partnered with Pantone Color Institute to kick start that conversation, because for many of us, drinking enough fluids is the first step to feeling more like our natural selves in any self-care routine. Alongside this, Highland Spring’s new 10 litre hydration pack means it’s easier than ever to help people on their way to healthy hydration, in and out of the home.”

Available now, Highland Spring’s new 10 litre hydration pack is suitable for all the family as well as occasions in and out of the home, such as on long car journeys or camping trips.

Billed as the first of its kind within the natural source water category in British retail, the 10 litre pack also boasts sustainability credentials. Its cardboard outer is FSC certified, and alongside the plastic inner, is fully recyclable.

Highland Spring added that its urine colour guide is illustrative only and any concerns should be addressed by a medical expert.
