Jägermeister launches Ultra Premium, Limited Edition 25-Year-Aged Spirit – at £490 per bottle!

Jägermeister launches Ultra Premium, Limited Edition 25-Year-Aged Spirit – at £490 per bottle!

Jägermeister has launched a “first come, first served” limited edition tipple matured for 9,556 nights – or over 25 years – available now from Jägermeister for £490.

Only 2,500 hand-numbered 0.7-litre bottles of the unique spirit – called “9556 Nights of Exploration” – are available worldwide, with 560 available in the UK.

At 40 per cent alcohol by volume, it is five per cent stronger than regular Jägermeister thanks to its longer time in the barrel. The classic 56 herbs and botanicals are enhanced by sweet fruit accents, with caramel and vanilla aromas rounding off the subtle hints of oak.

The one-off liqueur is the result of an experiment by Dr Günther Findel, son-in-law of Jägermeister Founder, Curt Mast, who wanted to test how the base of the liqueur would develop when stored for an even longer time.

Jägermeister is usually produced in batches of 400 oak barrels over several months at the company’s HQ in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. But one special barrel was sealed and left to mature for more than 25 years before being bottled.

The additional time to mature allows completely new flavours to be born creating a balanced composition of spicy herbs and sweet fruit including cherry, plum and even sweet orange mingle for a truly unique taste.

The limited-edition treasure is presented in a Jägermeister-orange shock-resistant wooden box. The history behind the product is transcribed on the bottle, only becoming visible once you drink the liquid. There’s also a QR code to receive a one-off NFT of an oil painting, inspired by the release, created by Berlin-based artist Mago Dovjenco.

For the optimum experience, the rich, dark liqueur should be served in a tumbler at room temperature, allowing the spirit’s unique flavours to develop to their fullest. But it can also be taken over ice for a unique flavour.

Dr. Berndt Finke, Vice President Products & Quality at Mast-Jägermeister SE, oversees the maturation process: “The arrival of 9556 Nights of Exploration has been a labour of love for those involved in crafting the limited edition. A labour of love that will be enjoyed and appreciated by those lucky enough to secure a bottle.

“Over the past 25 years, the essence has been on a sensory journey: the aroma, the taste and the appearance of the liquid changed several times until finally, the flavours came together in perfect harmony. I am proud that we are now presenting a brand-new product based on our original recipe developed more than 80 years ago, and I am certain Dr. Günther Findel would be proud of it too.”

Jägermeister’s 9556 Nights of Exploration is available at www.jagermeister.com for £490 / €560.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
