Jakemans invites consumers to 'marvel in the menthol' with new TV ad

Jakemans invites consumers to 'marvel in the menthol' with new TV ad

Cough and throat Lozenge brand Jakemans has revealed its new TV advert, which will be broadcast across the country this November, inviting consumers to "Marvel in the Menthol of Jakemans".

The latest Jakemans advertising creative is set in an Edwardian Circus where a new animated character, the “Fortune Taster” takes centre stage. The Fortune Taster is a mechanical machine whose expression remains stoic and unchanging until a Jakemans lozenge is placed in its mouth. Upon this, the taster becomes hypnotised as he marvels in the menthol, before returning to his original expression. Finally, a Jakemans ticket emerges from the bottom of the machine, offering a glimpse into a menthol-infused future.

This advert builds on the success of the previous much-loved TV advert that had been on air for over a decade and has seen Jakemans build wide-spread brand recognition and equity through bringing their classic, beautifully animated big top, Edwardian theme and circus characters to our TV, digital and OOH screens.

“We’re really excited to announce the upcoming launch of our new advert that’ll be hitting TV screens this year,” said Elizabeth Hughes-Gapper, Senior Brand Manager for Jakemans As we head into the colder months, we can expect to see a rise in the number of people suffering with sore throats, so it’s important for us to raise awareness of how the menthol sensation, that each Jakemans lozenge contains, can soothe your throat and ease airways. That is what our new creative will show. Jakemans has been a trusted name amongst consumers for over 100 years, and we strive to keep that rich history alive in all our marketing efforts."

The new TV campaign will be supported by a £2 million pound media investment and will also benefit from a strong radio, PR and social campaign to ensure the brand and retail sales are well supported throughout the peak cold and flu season and beyond.
