Kestrel Beer to supply leading drag racing venue

Kestrel Beer to supply leading drag racing venue

Scottish-born beer brand Kestrel beer has agreed a new Supply Agreement with Santa Pod Raceway, the best loved drag racing venue in Europe. Kestrel Beer has previously committed to being the left-lane sponsor at the track, one of the most prestigious sponsorship packages available.

In addition to the sponsorship, Kestrel has won the right to supply, surpassing numerous multinational brewers in the process. The new deal will see two Kestrel draught beers being poured on site, which will allow some of the 400,000 annual visitors to experience the crafted lager first-hand. Kestrel Premium 5% abv lager and Kestrel Premium 4% abv lager will be poured from April 2022.

In addition to Kestrel beer, three new draught brands will be launched at the site, as part of the supply agreement These include Lionheart, an artisan ale, at 4% abv, Switchback Session IPA, an American-inspired craft offering at 4.2% abv and Apple Yard, a premium English cider at 4.5% abv, expertly crafted, using British apples and oak vats for conditioning. The Kestrel lager range will also be available across the sites various bars as a packaged option.

“The partnership with Santa Pod is a strategic move that supports our UK and Worldwide marketing objectives," explained Nigel McNally, MD of The Kestrel Brewing Co. "We have been achieving strong growth in UK off-trade and export markets, and the international reach of Santa Pod will assist us in driving this forward. The venue is local to our Bedfordshire office, the proximity of which enables us to have a close relationship with the Santa Pod team. The dragstrip is an exciting place that echoes the bold values of the Kestrel beer brand. We developed the land-speed record breaking Flying Kestrel car, which will continue to be exhibited at the venue. We are proud that our leading beer brand supports such an iconic venue and that it will be available to a new audience in draught format”.

Caroline Holden, Commercial Manager at Santa Pod added: “We are delighted that Kestrel Beer have renewed the sponsorship of the left-hand lane, after having a taster of what we could offer last season. They have previously sampled products on site for customers to trial, so bringing the pouring rights inline with the sponsorship made sense and takes the partnership to the next level. Having the Flying Kestrel Car present at events also bolsters the brand awareness, whilst at the same being a great attraction for our spectators.”

The draught range will be rolled out across other selected on-trade venues in the region as part of the brand’s strategy to increase visibility and trial with a younger consumer demographic. The products will be available from Sky Wines Limited, based in Rugby. The brand will be supported by a marketing campaign that includes print and digital advertising, as well as retail and consumer promotional activity.

Paddy Power Kabaddi World Cup 2025

Paddy Power partners Dhillon's Brewery!

The Paddy Power Kabaddi World Cup 2025 will bring sports fans from across the globe to the West Midlands this month – and attendees will now be able to enjoy the World Cup’s official beer, as well as a specially curated menu of food and drink for the duration of the competition. Produced in partnership with Coventry based brewery Dhillon’s, Raider has been created especially for the competition, presented in bespoke cans that will satisfy lager lovers and sports fans alike.

“Bringing this international competition to the UK for the first time means that we want to give guests an authentic British experience – and what better place to start, than by launching the World Cup’s own official beer, brewed right in the heart of the West Midlands," said Prem Singh, Chief Executive of the British Kabaddi League.

Located in Coventry, Dhillon's Brewery is an award-winning microbrewery with a rich and dynamic story. The brewery was founded in 2015 by Dal Dhillon, who chased his dream of brewing beautifully crafted beer at the heart of the Midlands. The Brewery sits adjacent to the CBS Arena, one of the tournament’s venues, and from that base they produce exciting and well-crafted ales using a mix of traditional and modern brewing methods. The beer itself, Raider, is a Pilsner Lager; classic and refreshing with malty sweetness coupled with a crisp cool finish – and it’s 100 per cent Vegan.

Dal Dhillon said of the announcement: "We're thrilled to be partnering with the Paddy Power Kabaddi World Cup 2025 and to be brewing the official beer for the event, which we're welcoming in the UK for the first time! As a home-grown business with deep roots in the community, supporting local initiatives has always been one of our core values. We're delighted to be uniting Coventry with the World Cup, to celebrate the rich cultural background both the city and the event have to offer.

The Paddy Power Kabaddi World Cup 2025 is hosted as a joint venture between World Kabaddi, England Kabaddi Association, the British Kabaddi League, West Midlands Combined Authority, the four hosting local authorities of Wolverhampton, Coventry, Birmingham and Walsall and the University of Wolverhampton. The championship will take place in venues across the region between 17th and 23rd March. The tournament is supported by £500,000 of funding support from the UK Government’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund and by the championship’s title sponsor Paddy Power. The World Cup will also work with charity partner, Sporting Equals, to accelerate the charity’s goal of promoting community cohesion and eradicate racism in sport.

The Paddy Power Kabaddi World Cup 2025 official beer is now available to pre-order. The beer will also be available to VIP hospitality guests for the duration of the championships. Pre-order yours now at dhillonsbrewery.com/shop.
