Kiefer Sutherland launches Red Bank Whisky in the UK

Kiefer Sutherland launches Red Bank Whisky in the UK

Everyone’s a friend around a bottle of Red Bank – a delicious new Canadian whisky born on Canada’s Atlantic Coast, co-founded by Canadian actor, musician and whisky enthusiast Kiefer Sutherland. Now gathering friends in the UK, Red Bank Whisky is officially launching in the UK, in partnership with Mangrove Global, on Monday 20 May with an exclusive event in London featuring Kiefer Sutherland.

As shareable as a good story, Red Bank Whisky is about moments with family and friends while celebrating the memories you’ve made and those you’ve yet to make. Founded by Kiefer Sutherland, Gary Briggs, Shawn Hiscott and Rob Steele in 2022, and carefully crafted by Master Blender Michel Marcil, Red Bank is a balance of rye, corn and wheat whiskies, with a nose of character and substance, including notes of oak spice, orchard fruit, allspice and caramel. Red Bank Whisky stands out as a smooth, multi-faceted premium spirit with a taste that captures the essence of Canada – as evidenced by claiming Gold this year at the world-renowned San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

“The thing that I found so fascinating about Red Bank and this journey developing the whisky is the incredible pride Canadians take in themselves and their country," said Kiefer, Co-Founder of Red Bank Whisky. "I was born in England and I know the British people feel the same, but I grew up in Canada and one of the things that I’ve admired about Canada is its great diversity not just in its landscapes and culture, but it’s people as well. I am proud to have Red Bank represent all that is authentically Canadian and I am absolutely thrilled to bring it to the UK with the help of Mangrove Global.”

Red Bank Whisky embodies good taste, good times, good friends and the rich heritage and tradition of Canadian whisky. With its impeccable quality and homegrown taste, Red Bank is set to captivate whisky connoisseurs, new whisky drinkers and mixologists alike and become a symbol of Canadian excellence, positioned comfortably in its ‘home away from home’ in the UK. On the nose, the whisky features sumptuous oat spices and orchard fruits with scents of sweet caramel, while on the palate it is a dry spirit of medium intensity.

Nick Gillett, Managing Director of Mangrove Global said: “Red Bank is a product that champions and reinvigorates the longstanding history of the Canadian Whisky category. Red Bank is an exceptional liquid that can rely on the outstanding talent of having Kiefer as one of its founders. His involvement at every stage of production, knowledge of the category, approachability, passion for the journey ahead, as well as being great fun, meant this was an easy decision for me to add to the portfolio.

As purveyors of the very best independent spirits brands, Mangrove have, since the beginning, admired the ethos behind Red Bank Whisky and are proud to integrate this Canadian whisky legacy into our World Whisky portfolio. With the UK whisky market predicted to reach $1.3bn by 2028, this is a great time to add this to our collection.”

Red Bank is the finest blended whisky for those who will settle for nothing less. Bank on it.

Available to off trade market through Mangrove Global, the RRP of Red Bank Whisky is £49 and it is available from Master of Malt and other outlets.

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Gnaw ‘new-stalgia’: pud-themed Chocolate Spoons and flavoured choc bars

Tapping into “new-stalgia” (an anticipated hot food trend in 2025), Gnaw has been working tirelessly to rethink Great British puddings by creating a number of “Hug in a Mug” classics (Crème Brulée, Bakewell Tart, Sticky Toffee Pud) in conjunction with an impressive “pudfolio” of dessert-flavoured bars: New York Cheesecake, Christmas Pudding, Banoffee Pie and Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Desserts may prove divisive. For many the last course will always be a fitting finale to a great meal spent with friends of family, enticing comfort food that offers a nostalgic peek into happy custard drenched, ice cream topped memories from yesteryear. For others, desserts are an unwitting dalliance with guilt-filled soft sponges, buttery pastry, seductively sweet fillings, crumbly toppings, sticky sauces …
