Knorr’s new Wine Stock Pots: bringing flavour without the bottle

Knorr’s new Wine Stock Pots: bringing flavour without the bottle

Stock brand Knorr has launched its first ever Red and White Wine Stock Pots designed to bring depth and flavour to dishes without consumers having to buy or open a bottle of wine. The red wine variant offers a "full bodied" taste, whilst the white wine variant is "fresh and crisp".

With red and white wine stocks becoming the two fastest-growing variants in the category, this new launch is designed to offer shoppers a superior offering from a renowned brand. Each stock pot contains the equivalent of half a glass of wine and includes sustainably sourced herbs. Thanks to their portion sizes, the Knorr Wine Stock Pots take the guesswork out of how much wine to use in a recipe.

Wine features in a wide variety of meals that are made millions of times a year in the UK. For example, Spaghetti Bolognese is prepared 547 million times a year, whilst risottos are made 63 million times. As such, each SKU features a recipe for these dishes on the back of the pack. An easy-to-follow Spaghetti Bolognese recipe is on the Knorr Red Wine Stock Pot pack and a Chicken Risotto recipe in on the Knorr White Wine Stock Pot pack.

“Knorr's new Red and White Wine Stock Pots are a game-changer for home cooks who want to add rich wine flavours to their dishes without having to buy or open a bottle,” said Georgina Bradford, Marketing Director Nutrition, Unilever UK&I. “As the UK's number one stock brand in the market, Knorr is renowned for its commitment to quality and innovation, and this launch is no exception.

“Whether you are making Spaghetti Bolognese or a chicken risotto, a half a glass of red or white wine can make all the difference to enhance the flavour of a dish. Our new product range sets itself apart from the competition by its superior flavour.

“We believe that shoppers will continue to purchase our existing stock pot range, while also adding our new wine stock pots to their shopping list, resulting in increased basket spend and retailer sales. We understand that our consumers value convenience and quality, and our new Red and White Wine Stock Pots deliver on both fronts.”

Knorr Wine Stock Pots will roll out to convenience retail from August.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
