KTC launches Palmax IP – fully traceable and sustainable palm oil

KTC Edibles Ltd, Britain’s largest independent manufacturer and distributor of edible oils, has launched Palmax IP – a full-traceable, RSPO*-certified palm oil, as part of its ongoing sustainability programme.

Palmax IP - identity preserved - is ideal for companies that care about environmentally friendly, ethical production. It provides complete transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain, right back to the original mill and surrounding plantation.

The product launch is part of KTC’s continued commitment to transition to 100 per cent RSPO certified sustainable palm oil by 2022. As part of this, the company plans to launch an extensive range of identity preserved palm oil, palm olein, stearin and high oleic palm oil products over the coming year.

“KTC are serious about sustainability, and our mission is to make certified sustainable palm oil the norm across the entire food industry – and we want to make it as easy as possible for every customer to make the right decision," said Gary Lewis, Head of Business Development for Oils and Fats at KTC and President of NEODA (The National Edible Oil Distributor's Association).

“Palmax IP is the gold standard in RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil, for the food service industry and manufacturers. We are actively looking to educate customers about the benefits of sustainability, while encouraging them to adopt sustainable solutions as part of a complete transition by 2022.”

Palmax IP is sourced from Daabon, a global leader in sustainable agriculture. The palm is grown at Daabon’s own palm plantation in Northern Colombia, before being milled in Daabon’s refinery. The company holds a wealth of sustainability accreditations and memberships, including Rainforest Alliance, Palm Oil Innovation Group and RSPO certification – offering the highest standards in palm oil sustainability.

The launch of Palmax IP is part of a wider update to the look and feel of the Palmax range. This includes updated box designs that highlight the sustainability of the products. In addition to Palmax IP, the range also includes Palmax SG (RSPO segregated, certified sustainable) and Palmax. The company is committed to phasing out the original Palmax by 2022.

All Palmax products are available in 12.5kg boxes.
