Another convenience store, this one in Liverpool, was brutally ransacked over by protesters while £15,000-worth of stock was looted as disorder erupted on the streets last week.

According to reports, King Store on County Road in Liverpool fell victim to the rampaging looters as the violence peaked following an aggregation near County Road Mosque around 8.30 pm, with frenzied scenes unfolding for hours thereafter. The store was targeted by masked thugs who stole £15,000-worth of stock as well as the owners' pet canaries.

In a footage obtained by Liverpool Echo, the looters can be seen tearing down shutters and bashing through doors of King Store. Looters can be seen dashing inside, pillaging goods off shelves, shatterring a window to enable more culprits to join in and snatching up snacks, chocolates and electronic vapes. Cash register was gutted and discarded on the pavement, while the shutter was ripped out, and windows shattered.

King Store owner Ardalan Othman revealed to the media that he saw the whole rampage unfolding through CCTV from his home.

He said, "I was at home at the time. I had shut the shop by 11pm, but I saw it on my CCTV, they broke in, took cash, vapes, cigarettes, and many things. They broke the windows to get in - people kept coming in. I then went there and stayed in the shop all night, I've been cleaning and sweeping all night. I'm feeling terrible - I don't know how to explain it."

"When I got to the shop, people were coming up to me and laughing in my face, laughing that stock had been taken. They were all laughing, they all had big bags and ran away from the shop with them full. It's how they came in and how they were laughing. I don't understand."

Othman estimated losses close to £15,000 in stolen goods.

The retailer's beloved pet canaries also became casualties of the theft. He shared, "They also robbed my three birds - my canaries. They took things like toilet rolls, I don't understand it."

Othman has set up a GoFundMe following extensive damage done to his store, appealing for help.

Multiple retailers have calculated specific impacts on their businesses, with costs ranging from £90,000 to £150,000 per year.

"This budget was horrendous for us as a company. Estimated costs to be around £110,000 - £120,000 per year," said Andrew Massey of Masseys DIY in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.
