Mangrove UK secures two new spirit listings with Waitrose

Premium spirits importer and distributer, Mangrove UK, has announced that listings have been secured with Waitrose for Pampelle Aperitif and Vecchia Romagna.

Pampelle is an artisanal, versatile liqueur that contains 30% less sugar while also capturing the bitter-sweet essence of hand-picked ruby red grapefruits from Corsica.

The grapefruit is distilled three-ways and then citrus infused with peels from around the world and blended with natural botanicals.

Popular ways of serving this brand include mixing with a tonic or Prosecco and soda – ideal as a summer sharer.

Meanwhile, Vecchia Romagna is the world’s best-selling Italian brandy created by Jean Bouton, who descended from a family of French distillers and the official supplier at Napolean's Court.

Pampelle and Vecchia Romagna will be available to buy at Waitrose from 20th July

John Vine, Spirits Buyer at Waitrose, commented: “We are delighted to have selected these two brilliant brands to join the collection at Waitrose. We are always looking for interesting new products which will inspire our customers, who expect the very highest quality from us.

“These two brands bring with them a high quality, flavoursome drinking experience and I look forward to seeing them on our shelves this July.”

Nick Gillett, managing director at Mangrove UK, added: “It’s great to extend Mangrove’s successful relationship with Waitrose and list another two high quality Mangrove brands.

“We look forward to providing Waitrose customers the chance to discover Pampelle’s distinctive flavours and appreciate Vecchia Romagna’s rich taste and heritage.”

Pampelle will be stocked in 199 Waitrose stores across the UK and Vecchia Romagna will be listed in 84 stores, both spirits will be available in store and online at waitrose.com from 20th July.

Budget 2024: Local shops to face significant new pressure

Local shops will face significant new pressures as a result of today’s Budget, the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) has warned.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves' budget's impact will be felt unevenly across the UK’s 50,000 convenience stores, with some measures such as business rate relief and the increased employment allowance mitigating costs for smaller independent stores, while providing no help for chains and larger independent businesses.
