Milky Way Milk now available in a can

Milky Way Milk now available in a can

Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats (MCD&T) has expanded its range of milk drinks in a can with the launch of Milky Way Milk in a 250ml can.

Following last year’s successful introduction of Mars and Galaxy milk drinks in cans, this move is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to more sustainable packaging solutions.

Milky Way Milk combines the taste of Milky Way chocolate in a smooth milk.

The flavoured milk category presents a great opportunity for retailers, with the category growing by 11.9 per cent year on year.

Milk Drinks from Mars is one of the leading ranges in the UK with annual sales of £18.5 million.

Over the past three years, the flavoured milk market has seen a shift toward more sustainable packaging. Sales of milk in cans have increased by more than five million, reflecting a 13 per cent growth, while sales of plastic bottles have declined by 11% during the same period.

“The can format allows us to offer a more sustainable choice that’s easier for consumers to recycle.

“In addition to its sustainable properties, the range of cans are also suitable for vegetarians, have no added sugar and are non HFSS," said Michelle Frost, General Manager at Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats highlights.

“We are looking to extend the range available in cans beyond Mars, Milky Way and Galaxy in 2025.”

Milky Way Can is available from convenience stores.

Available in cases of 12 x 250 ml and can be stored ambient but are best served chilled. RSP: £1.25
