Mug Shot undergoes full brand refresh

Instant hot snack Mug Shot has undergone a full brand refresh with recipe enhancements, new flavours and a complete redesign. The popular brand made the changes to drive consumption across the category, with a real focus on taste and enjoyment to help drive growth. Rolled out in January 2021, the new products are now available in-stores.

Mug Shot, manufactured by Symington’s, has extended the range by introducing new flavours such as Chicken & Mushroom Noodles and Original Curry Noodles across its sachets, On The Go pots and Mighty pots. The brand has also enhanced recipes across its top 12 flavours which has been reflected on the latest pack design with a new and improved recipe logo. The redesign has delivered a 50 per cent plastic reduction across the brand’s Mighty Pots range.


“The category is ever evolving and here at Mug Shot, it’s our job to deliver products that can hold their own in the current market," said Christine Everett, Head of Snacking at Symington’s. "With that in mind, we’ve refreshed the brand with a core focus on taste. As well as enhancing our classic flavours, we’ve introduced two new flavours into the range that we’re confident our consumers will enjoy. .”

The brand has supported Mug Shot’s relaunch with a full social media, in-store and influencer marketing campaign.

Freight-related crime cost the UK economy an estimated £680-700 million in 2023, when accounting for lost revenues, VAT, and insurance costs, revealed a recent report from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Freight and Logistics.

British beekeepers urge retailers to stock local honey as imported products fail authenticity test

British Beekeepers’ Association (BBKA), which represents hobbyist beekeepers, has urged retailers to stock local honey, after a new research raised significant questions about the composition of blended honey samples imported to the UK and sold at supermarkets.

In a recent authenticity test, 96 per cent of samples of imported honey from supermarkets were found to be ‘atypical’ for honey, compared to 100 per cent of UK beekeeper samples that were deemed ‘typical’.

Five arrested after seizure of illegal vapes worth thousands of pounds in Swindon

Wiltshire Police have arrested five people and seized more than £55,000 worth of illicit vapes, tobacco and alcohol following a series of warrants in the Broadgreen area of Swindon.
