The Great Bubble Escape! Aero launches £10,000 treasure hunt after 'bubble trouble'

Aero chocolate bars, some without bubbles, and a £10,000 prize

Nestlé has released CCTV footage showing the bubbles making their escape from the bars in the Aero factory!

Nestlé’s Aero brand has initiated a consumer-facing response following a rare production anomaly at its York manufacturing facility, which resulted in a limited number of Aero chocolate bars potentially lacking the brand’s signature bubbles.

In a proactive move to maintain consumer trust and brand integrity, Aero has launched a promotional campaign offering £10,000 cash prizes for bubble-less packs that are verified through in-store purchase.

Additionally, the brand is incentivising broader consumer engagement by offering £100 daily prize draws for participants who confirm their chocolate bars contain the expected aerated texture via the official Aero website.

The production issue, described internally as a “bubble breach,” prompted Nestlé to release previously unseen CCTV footage from the York facility, humorously depicting the bubbles "escaping" during manufacturing. While the packs in question passed all standard quality and safety checks, the exact cause of the anomaly is still under investigation by on-site engineers.

“We want to apologise and reassure everyone that creating our deliciously bubbly chocolate remains a top priority. We’ll be doing everything we can to make sure no further bubbles escape,” Emily Lord, Senior Brand Manager for Aero, said.

“If anyone finds a bubble-less pack, please reach out to us right away, and don’t forget to keep your receipt and winning insert!

“We need to get the bubble-breach contained as soon as possible.”

The company confirmed that all affected products are safe for consumption and consistent in weight and packaging with standard Aero bars, making detection by consumers more challenging. As of publication, no verified bubble-less bars have been reported.
