New limited-edition pack for Henri Wintermans festive fave

Scandinavian Tobacco Group UK has announced a new limited-edition pack for its Henri Wintermans Half Corona brand for the run-up to Christmas. The new packs come in two different colour schemes, which both offer stand-out on shelf and will appeal to adult smokers with their quintessentially British pattern and sophisticated style, and are available to retailers now.

The Henri Wintermans Half Corona is easily the UK’s best-selling medium-large cigar and the fifth best-selling cigar overall in value terms. With annual sales currently worth £16m, it is typically popular with adult smokers who have more time on their hands or are celebrating a special occasion and want to enjoy a larger cigar with a longer smoke. Its sales traditionally rise in the run-up to Christmas, when it is regularly enjoyed as part of the festive celebrations, making these new limited-edition packs perfectly timed.

Henri Wintermans’ blends are based on tobacco leaves from Indonesia, Brazil and the Caribbean and its cigars come in a wide range of sizes and variants. The brand has a long and rich history that dates back to the 1800s, when Henri Wintermans, a young and ambitious cigar-roller, along with his brother, opened their own cigar factory, A. Wintermans & Sons. The brand joined the Scandinavian Tobacco Group back in 1996 and has become an integral part of the portfolio ever since.

“We’re delighted to announce the arrival of our Henri Wintermans limited-edition packs, which will bring a bit of excitement to the category and a good talking point for retailers with their regular tobacco customers," said STG’s UK Marketing Manager, Nataly Scarpetta. "It’s well known that sales of cigars, and larger cigars in particular, go up in the run up to Christmas so these smart new packs should prove especially appealing to adult smokers and we’d strongly recommend retailers stock up to make the most of those additional sales and attractive margins.”
