New #StayHydrated campaign from evian

Mineral water brand evian has launched a new campaign following a research that raised concerns on the nation’s drinking habits.

The study revealed that Brits drink just five glasses of water a day, with some saying they are too busy, forget or don’t track the water they are drinking.

The survey has also shown the perceived impact of drinking water on health and wellbeing as people who drank more water reported having clearer skin (26%), being less hungry (23%) and feeling refreshed (40%).

Natural source water, consumed by 60 per cent of the public, is a popular choice for Brits when compared with tap.

The global study by the Danone-owned brand found that adults in the UK fare worse than their French and American counterparts in drinking water. Brits will drink a glass of water less per day than French nationals, and more than two glasses less than those across the pond.

The research also looked into the impact of coronavirus lockdown on the hydration habits. Of those who have worked from home, the survey found that just over a third (36%) said that they had been drinking more water as a result.

Positively, this is one outcome from lockdown that Brits want to keep hold of, with the same number (36%) saying that drinking more water is a habit they’d like to continue in the future.

The new social media campaign, #StayHydrated, will see the brand teaming up with Ashley James, presenter, DJ and empowerment coach, as she provides her top tips on how Brits can keep on top of their hydration.

Ashley James said: “Drinking water and ensuring I’m properly hydrated has been a real focus for me. Whether I’m working, doing a workout or preparing for motherhood, I always make sure to have a bottle of water nearby. It’s a small thing, but it makes a huge difference to how I feel – which is more important than ever in times like these.”

As part of the campaign, evian has also launched a new filter on its Instagram account. This filter acts as a gentle reminder to stay hydrated, giving users the opportunity to use four different filters.

Gemma Morgan, marketing manager at evian UK, said: “Drinking water not only helps us to stay hydrated but it can also help Brits to feel more refreshed too. We hope that #stayhydrated encourages everyone to think about their water intake – a simple way to support ourselves, but one that can also make a difference.”

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
