Nisa starts 2022 on healthy note

Nisa starts 2022 on healthy note

Nisa is providing its partners a range of fresh deals on healthy kitchen staples this month to capitalise on Veganuary.

With over a quarter of consumers agreeing that the main motivation for a change in diet is to improve overall health, January is the perfect time to reset with annual events like Veganuary and Dry January taking place.

Wholesale category controller at Nisa, Darren Hamilton, said, “Each year, the transition from December to January sees a huge shift in both consumer mindset and shopping habits as many begin to crave routine and structure after a busy and likely indulgent festive period.”

To help their shoppers create new, healthy food habits for the year ahead, Nisa partners are offering up Quaker Wholegrain Rolled Oats 1kg for £1.50, Tropicana Smooth Orange Juice 1.4ltr for £2 and Innocent Bolt From The Blue drink 750ml for just £2.50 a bottle.

As well as breakfast basics, also included in the promotion are Co-op Chicken Thigh Fillets 520g on a two for £7 deal, Co-op Sweet Potato 2pk at £1, and Co-op Curly Kale 160g at 65p a bag – the perfect ingredients for an easy midweek tray bake.

Insights Customer mindset

With Dry January an increasingly popular pledge at the start of the year, Nisa is catering for those taking part with non-alcoholic drinks such as Heineken 0.0% 4x330ml at £3, Gordon’s 0.0% 70cl at £12 and the Co-op Irresistible Non-Alcoholic Botanical Drink 50cl at £9 available.

Over a third of shoppers proactively aim to eat more fruit and veg at this time of year and with Veganuary attracting more people than ever before in 2021, fresh produce is key to sales success in the coming weeks. To help with this, Nisa is providing partners with a ‘Fresh 3’: a new periodic promotion that features three Co-op own brand fruit or vegetable lines on a 3 for £5 deal.

Currently, shoppers have the choice of a Kiwi 4pk, Irresistible Plums 6pk and a Cherry punnet.

“It’s important that Nisa partners have access to a broad range across these categories, at competitive prices, to ensure they can cater for the changing demands of their shoppers and create a one shop destination for their customers as we move into 2022”, added Hamilton.

The deals are available in stores until Tuesday 25th January.

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
