North South Wines secures top BRCGS certification for second year

North South Wines secures top BRCGS certification for second year

Wine distributor North South Wines said it has been awarded an ‘AA Grade’ – the highest rating possible for an announced audit – for the second year running, after it was assessed against the new Version 3 BRCGS Global Standard for Agents and Brokers.

BRCGS is a leading global brand and consumer protection scheme, and their Agents and Brokers Global Standard provides a framework to manage product safety, authenticity, quality and legality for businesses in the food, packaging and consumer products industries that buy, sell or facilitate the trade of products, but do not manufacture, process or store the products in their own facilities or on their own sites.

North South Wines noted that they are one of only a handful of UK wine distributors and agencies to have earned the certification, adding that the impressive rating demonstrates the company’s commitment to maintaining quality as it manages products through the supply chain.

“I am delighted we have retained our AA grade with zero non-conformances – it is great formal recognition of the hard work put in over the last year to meet the new requirements for Version 3 of the Standard, not least instilling a ‘culture of quality’ throughout the business and focusing on product authenticity,” commented Emily Brighton, North South Wines’ technical manager – and Stage 2 MW student, who once again led this project.

“It really demonstrates that NSW has industry-leading quality and safety systems in place.”

The eleven-hour audit assessed the company against a broad scope of key areas including senior management commitment; hazard and risk analysis; product safety and quality management; supplier and subcontracted service management, and personnel.

“The news that we have been awarded the top AA grade for our BRCGS Agents and Brokers certification for the second year running has made me so proud. We now have great building blocks in place to continue to improve year on year,” Kim Wilson, managing director and founder of North South Wines, said.

“Quality has always been at the forefront of what we do here at North South Wines. It is a well-deserved result for the NSW team, as well as our partner wineries and suppliers who have supported us throughout the process. BRCGS Agent and Broker has given us a great to offer our customer on hundred percent assurance in what we do.”
