Payzone retailers to benefit from new gift card offering

Payzone has signed a new contract with leading gift card provider Blackhawk Network to supply Payzone stores with the ‘One4All’ and ‘Choice’ gift cards.

The deal follows a successful roll out of new Blackhawk gift cards throughout the Post Office network earlier this year.

“We are delighted to extend the successful partnership already in place with Blackhawk and the Post Office, to support our Payzone retailers in time for the crucial Christmas trading period,” commented Simon Lambert, commercial director at Payzone.

“The tie up is great news for Payzone and highlights our significantly strengthened and diverse offering for our retailers.”

The network said the offering will provide retailers an opportunity to increase basket spend from additional customer footfall, alongside an average £1 for each gift card sold.

The gift card range currently includes six variations: ‘One4All’ Classic, Birthday and Christmas gift cards along with Gamers Choice, Fashion Choice and Restaurant Choice gift cards, with plans for introducing an extended range early next year.

Retailers, who have opted-in can sell gift cards in their store, will be provided with the gift cards free of charge, together with a POS stand for their counter. Customers will be able to take their gift card to the till point, pay in cash or via card, and use in store or online with a wide range of brands.

Payzone, which was acquired by Post Office Limited in October 2018, now has a strengthened network of 24,000 locations.

Retail sales take bigger-than-expected hit in October

British retail sales fell by much more than expected in October, according to official data that added to other signs of a loss of momentum in the economy in the run-up to the first budget of prime minister Keir Starmer's new government.
