Pork Farms launches new meat snacking brand Meateors

Leading pork pie brand Pork Farms has announced the launch of Meateors, a new meat snacking brand specialising in ready-to-eat, protein-packed pork meatballs.

The new brand is being introduced to meet the rising demand for high-protein, on-the-go meat snacks, and addresses the gap for consumers seeking alternatives to chicken.

Meateors launches with three delicious meatball recipes all made from 100% pork, including Spicy Fajita Meateors, Italian Style Herb Meateors and Sweet BBQ Meateors (all 50g, RRP £1.25). All are available this month through the convenience channel, as well as in selected Morrisons Daily and SPAR stores.

The Spicy Fajita Meateors are Mexican inspired and seasoned with cumin, chilli, paprika, garlic, onion and cayenne pepper, ideal for shoppers looking for a hit of heat. The Italian Style Herb Meateors feature a blend of classic Italian ingredients including parsley, thyme, basil, and oregano. Completing the line-up is the Sweet BBQ Meateors, offering a savoury-sweet taste from the classic base of tomato, vinegar and mustard.

Meateors are naturally rich in protein at 9g per bag. These ready-to-eat meatballs are a convenient way to boost protein intake, whether that’s adding them to lunches, enjoying them as a pre-or post-workout snack, or grabbing them for a delicious on-the-go option.

“The meat snacking category is continuing to show impressive growth. However, there is a high demand from shoppers for more variety, with chicken being the most common protein, meaning pork is a relatively untapped opportunity. This is where our Meateors come in,” Yvonne Adam, chief marketing officer at The Compleat Food Group, home of Meateors, said.

“We’re proud to fill this gap in the market with a tasty, convenient option that boasts all the functional benefits of being protein-packed, therefore keeping consumers fuller for longer, as well as maintaining a great texture. We’re incredibly excited to be launching these new products under a vibrant new brand, Meateors, which is sure to disrupt the category with its fun and tasty range packed with flavour.”

Pernod Ricard UK ignites festive spirit with marketing push

As December rapidly approaches, Pernod Ricard UK is ramping up its festive marketing efforts, anticipating a resurgence in consumer confidence after a challenging year. The UK’s second-largest wine and spirits supplier is set to inspire consumers to choose Premium+ Spirits as the perfect gift or the ultimate addition to any home celebration. Throughout 2024, Premium+ Spirits have consistently outperformed Standard offerings, making this higher end of the sector a vital margin driver.

“Since last Christmas, consumer confidence has been on the rise and the outlook for the final month of 2024 is positive," said Chris Shead, Off-Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK. "Gifting and hosting remain two key trends and retailers should focus on increasing space in-store for Premium Spirits that act as the perfect gift or cocktail ingredient when wanting to show off in front of friends and family. Where possible, we encourage retailers to prioritise categories that have been capturing the hearts of consumers and this year, our big winners have been Altos Tequila, Kahlúa and Bumbu Rum, and we expect our Champagnes, G.H. Mumm and Perrier-Jouët, to be the toast of choice for festive parties this year.”
